"We find that most people can't explain what their retirement plan actually is, which usually leads to stress or worry when they wake up at night thinking about it, hoping that the ‘professionals’ know what they are doing,” says Nolan. “We want clients to feel like they can actively participate in understanding the retirement planning strategies."

As a Financial Advisor, Nolan finds satisfaction in many areas of his job, but none more than helping clients gain greater financial clarity so they can feel empowered to pursue their goals. He believes retirement planning should not be mysterious, overly complex or overwhelming. Instead, it should be an enjoyable process where clients feel engaged and have a firm enough understanding of their plan. "Ideally, our clients should be able to explain their retirement plan to someone else with ease," he says. Acting as the client's co-pilot, Nolan seeks to eliminate the stress of financial planning using Aerodyne’s Financial Flight Plan.

"It's one thing to say a core value is transparency, but it's another thing to walk that out. We make sure our clients know their investment risk, hat they know their fees, and we talk about them annually," he says.

“Furthermore, we want people to rediscover their callings, hobbies and desires for the next 30 years of their life. We aim to take extra time getting to know our clients and give them permission to aim for something meaningful in retirement.”

For over a decade, Nolan has been developing his skill and knowledge of the financial industry, including income, taxes, health care and legacy planning, so clients can spend their time focusing on what really matters. He also holds the Registered Social Security Analyst (RSSA®) designation.

“There's nothing better than seeing our clients let go of the stress they've been holding onto for years, no longer worrying if they have enough money to retire. We want to take what were once complicated financial concepts and make the retirement process easier to understand for people of all ages and backgrounds.”

Nolan and Hilary love being members of the Central Oregon community, so much so that they have spent the last three years convincing all their family members to join them here in the Cascade region, where Nolan’s parents honeymooned 40 years ago. They aim to play a vital role in the further development of the area for years to come. Away from the office, Nolan is passionate about healthy living and is a certified epigenetic health coach providing health and lifestyle insights based on scientific gene expression calculations. Nolan and Hilary have individually fostered a lifelong interest in aviation; the evolution of their firm's flight theme is a direct result of this shared passion, and they are in the process of pursuing their private pilot licenses.

Hilary holds two bachelor’s degrees from Vanguard University of Southern California, one in History/Political science and the other in English.

The financial world is full of puzzling jargon, complex products and people who capitalize on that confusion for their own gain. When Hilary joined the industry, she was determined to help clients grasp concepts that had eluded them to gain greater financial clarity.

“I live for the lightbulb moments!” she says.

With a diverse background in nonprofit work and business and trademark law, Hilary understands the importance of serving others creatively. When she joined the financial services industry and realized the impact financial literacy could make on people’s lives, she was determined to share her knowledge with as many people as possible. Since then, she has focused on providing the resources and tools to help clients make informed financial decisions and improve their lives.

Relating to client worries is an integral part of our service. “Couples who may fight about money or have concerns for their families, we get it," says Hilary. "That’s why finding someone who can break down these complex topics into clear and easy-to-understand language is so important. And more important, don’t be afraid to ask questions, even (especially) if you think they’re stupid. I promise you’re not the first person to ask.”

Outside of work, Hilary enjoys flying, playing the piano and taking care of their newborn son, Declan.
